Important hygiene habits to keep your child safe from chronic illness

Maintaining a good hygiene does not only mean grooming your appearance and out looks. It is far greater than this. It involves practices inducting to maintaining health and cleanliness and prevent the prevailing of viruses and bacteria.

A child with proper hygiene habits is more likely to stay healthy, safeguard himself against any contagious diseases and illnesses and eventually maintain a healthy body and a healthy personality.

In today’s highly polluted world, people specifically children are very uch prone to falling prey to deadly diseases. This issue has left everyone concerned and while scientists from all around the world are trying to develop certain methods to combat pollution, parents too can play a major role in keeping their child healthy and active and saving them from any acute or chronic illness.

It is the duty of parents to make their child realize and learn the value of personal grooming and hygiene so that they develop the habits and stay healthy.

  1. Bathing habit

When it comes to bathing, some children feel really lazy and like to avoid it. But it is that one essential hygiene habit which you should instill in your child from their infant days. The practice of bathing will not only clean the kid but also make them feel fresh and active. Parents should give bath to their younger children everyday and ask the same to the ones who are mature enough to do it themselves.

  1. Oral Hygiene

The day your child gets his first tooth, that’s when you know your duty of taking care of their oral hygiene starts. Mouth is that one organ in human body which if not cleaned properly can bring about a number of diseases. The habit of cleaning the teeth as well as the tongue should be in the child’s daily cleaning routine. If possible, this practice should be executed twice a day. This helps keep a parade of health issues away from your child.

  1. Nail Hygiene

Taking care of nails and pampering them to keep oneself healthy and active is often perceived as a difficult job. As much difficult it is, it serves to be equally important because nails are a hotbed for harmful bacteria. These bacteria have an easy gateway to the mouth and eventually make the kids sick.  To protect the children from a situation like this, parents should make sure they clip the nails of their kids weekly.

  1. Hand and foot cleaning

Washing hands and foot is an integral part of self grooming which parents must teach their children at a very young age. Frequent washing of hands and feet can decrease illnesses in children and prevent the microbes from entering the body. Failing to wash hands and feet often gives birth to diseases like diarrhea among the children.

         Keeping the clothes

Teach your children to keep their clothes and surrounding clean. Clothe them into clean clothes if they get dirty or grubby. Especially the underclothes should be changed very often because they are right next to the skin and easily transport the bacteria to the skin of your kid.

Parents should be very particular about the cleaning and hygiene habits of their children because according to the recent researches by scientists, a great number of children die every day due to different chronic diseases.
